Up until now, the problem of housing in urban China has been examined from the perspective of investment of from that of urban planning, and few studies have been made on the relation between housing and family.In the autumn of 1987, the authors conducted a survey in six urban centers in China in order to collect data for an investigation on "Family and Social Change in Urban China," and they found that the topic of housing was crucial for an understanding of the internal structure of the family, its economic and social status, and its relations with other social entities. Moreover, the use of the housing distributed by the State as a political weapon and one for social control, was evident. Some of the above-mentioned aspects are examined within the wider perspective of the housing problem in general. To that effect, both Chinese and Western sources were used, aside from the findings of fieldwork.
Hasta ahora el problema de la vivienda en China urbana ha sido estudiado desde la perspectiva de la inversión o de la planificación urbana, y hay pocos estudios sobre la relación entre vivienda y familia.En el otoño de 1987, los autores realizaron una encuesta en seis centros urbanos en China a fin de recabar datos para una investigación sobre “Familia y cambio social en China urbana”, y encontraron que el tema de la vivienda era crucial para entender la estructura interna de la familia, su estatus económico y social y sus relaciones con otras entidades sociales. Además fue evidente el uso de la vivienda distribuida por el Estado como un arma política y de control social. Algunos de los aspectos antes mencionados se examinan dentro de la perspectiva más amplia del problema de la vivienda en general. Para ello se utilizaron fuentes chinas y occidentales, además de los resultados del trabajo de campo. |
