Descripción	The region of Latin America and the Caribbean has sought prominence since the beginning of the crisis between Israel and Palestine, as many of its states have aimed for a balance in their relations with both parties. With few exceptions, almost all states today have diplomatic relations with the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), recognizing it as a state entity (except for Paraguay), and several have recently attempted to play a more active role in the Middle East. Given the dramatic situation at the end of 2023 in that region, Latin America once again reaffirmed international law as the guiding principle for its actions. Consequently, several states decided to undertake actions within the framework of multilateralism to express solidarity with Palestine and demand a ceasefire in Gaza, and an end to subsequent violence in other occupied territories. While Latin America may be weakened in its multilateral spaces, its express and permanent desire for the defense of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations system remains, or rather, what is left of them. La región de América Latina y el Caribe ha buscado protagonismo desde el comienzo de la crisis entre Israel y Palestina, pues buena parte de sus Estados ha procurado un equilibrio en sus relaciones con ambos. Con contadas excepciones, casi todos los Estados tienen hoy relaciones diplomáticas con la Autoridad Nacional Palestina (ANP) a la que reconocen un carácter estatal (salvo Paraguay) y varios han tratado en el pasado reciente de desempeñar un papel más activo en el Medio Oriente. Con la dramática situación de finales de 2023, América Latina volvió a revindicar el derecho internacional como derrotero de sus acciones. En virtud de lo anterior, varios Estados decidieron emprender acciones en el marco de la multilateralidad para expresar solidaridad con Palestina y exigir un alto al fuego en Gaza y la violencia subsecuente en el resto de los territorios ocupados. Si bien América Latina está debilitada en sus espacios multilaterales, permanece su deseo expreso y permanente por la defensa del derecho internacional, del derecho internacional humanitario y del sistema de Naciones Unidas o, mejor, de lo que resta de éstos. ...
