The paper analyzes the repercussions of a foreign policy defined by the strategic alliance with the U.S. government on the domestic policies of the Shinzo Abe government. The Japanese electorate voted the Democratic Party of Japan (dpj) into power with a majority in the House of Representatives, enabling them to form a government. Subsequently, the combination of foreign policy issues connected with the U.S. redeployment in the Far East and the crisis of the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands, the electorate returned the Liberal Democrat Party (ldp) to power. The government of Shinzo Abe had repercussions on foreign policy issues that weakened the dpj; these issues could turn against the ldp; they may put an end to the privileges of sectors the party has traditionally patronized.
Se analizan las repercusiones de la alianza estratégica de Japón con el gobierno estadounidense para la política interna del gobierno de Shinzo Abe. El electorado japonés permitió al Partido Democrático de Japón (pdj) obtener la mayoría de la Casa de Representantes para formar el gobierno. Después, ante una combinación de temas de política exterior (redespliegue estadounidense en la región de Asia Pacífico y la crisis a causa de las islas Senkaku/ Diaoyu), el electorado japonés permitió el regreso del Partido Liberal Democrático (pld). El gobierno de Shinzo Abe acarreó repercusiones en los temas de política exterior, que debilitaron al pdj. Esos temas podrían volverse en contra del pld, en la medida que ponen fin a los privilegios de sectores clientelares tradicionales del partido. |
