The objective of this article is to explore the process of adopting the practice of soccer. It is based on an analysis of the sports section of the newspaper La Argentina, as well as data from the so-called traditional history of Argentinean soccer, which reflect the first—sometimes informal—steps taken by certain clubs, centered on the names they were given by their young founders. The analysis of these expressions and decisions will allow for a clearer vision of the ideas and affects that mobilized these soccer players and could constitute a path to testing a world that is difficult to assimilate by simply looking backward. This analysis provides clues to the identitarian scenarios that drew them together and the mental and emotional states of the capital’s youth, a tone which seems to have survived in the soccer world until the present day in an ebb and flow, and even in backwaters that resist change.
El objetivo de este trabajo es adentrarnos en ese proceso de adopción de la práctica del fútbol. Con tal objeto hemos utilizado como base la sección deportiva del diario La Argentina, así como toda una serie de datos emergentes de la llamada “historia tradicional del fútbol argentino” que reflejan los primeros pasos –algo informales– de algunos clubes: la búsqueda se ha centrado en los nombres que les dieron sus jóvenes fundadores. El examen de esos gestos y esas decisiones ayudará a tener una visión más clara de las ideas y sentimientos que movilizaban a esos futbolistas, y podría ser una vía de entrada para testear un universo que es difícil de asimilar en una simple mirada al pasado. Su análisis brinda pistas acerca de los distintos escenarios identitarios nucleantes y el estado mental y emocional de esa juventud porteña, tono que parece haber sobrevivido en el mundo del fútbol hasta hoy, con idas y vueltas, en forma de mareas y de algunos remansos que se resisten a los cambios. |
