This article shows the role played by the Internal Provinces of the West and the East in the insurgent-counterinsurgent war of 1810. It first presents a characterisation of these provinces based on the creation of the Commandancy General of the Internal Provinces as a jurisdiction that, even though it experienced periods of autonomy and dependence vis-à-vis the viceroyalty, was very important in the institutionalization and stability of the Septentrión. Afterwards, the formation of northern states is dealt with, whose first prerogative was maintaining autonomy. Northern deputies moved along three autonomic levels: local, provincial and multi-provincial, with the first one prevailing at the end.
En este artículo se muestra el papel que jugaron las Provincias Internas de Occidente y Oriente en la guerra de insurgente-contrainsurgente que estalló en 1810. Se hace primero una caracterización de esas provincias a partir de la creación de la Comandancia General de las Provincias Internas como una jurisdicción que, aunque atravesó por periodos de autonomía y dependencia con respecto al virreinato fue muy importante en la institucionalización y estabilidad del septentrión. A partir de estos antecedentes se trata sobre la formación de los estados norteños teniendo como primera prerrogativa conservar la autonomía. Los diputados norteños se movían entre tres niveles autonómicos: el local, provincial y multiprovincial, imperando al final el primero. |
