During the second half of the 17th Century, American and Asian commerce were profoundly interconnected, to the extent that events on one continent could trigger a series of changes on the other. This article studies how certain events in China, India and the Philippines during this period had a strong effect on American commerce and how this market in turn affected these regions of Asia. It also investigations the repercussions of these events on European trade.
Durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVII, el comercio americano y el asiático se encontraron profundamente interconectados entre sí, de manera que los cambios acontecidos en uno de estos continente podía desencadenar una serie de modificaciones en el otro. En el presente artículo se adentra en como determinados movimientos ocurridos en China, la India y Filipinas durante esta época tuvieron una fuerte repercusión sobre el comercio americano, y como este mercado, a su vez, acabó repercutiendo en estas regiones asiáticas. A la vez que indaga en las repercusiones que tuvieron estos movimientos en el trato europeo. |
