Descripción	The Diccionario de la ciencia y de la técnica del Renacimiento (DICTER- Dictionary of Renaissance Science and Technics) registers the scientific-technical vocabulary contained in texts of this type from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It includes vocabulary referring to tools that stands out for the way it is treated in the texts. Close examination reveals that the presentation of these tools follows three procedures: enumeration, explanation and illustration, which are determined by the theoretical-scientific or the practical-technical nature of the work or works that contain them and by the discursive tradition to which the construction of these works pertains. El Diccionario de la ciencia y de la técnica del Renacimiento (DICTER) registra el léxico científico-técnico contenido en textos de esta temática de los siglos xvi y xvii. En él hay un léxico denominador de herramientas que destaca por el modo como se trata en los textos. Su examen revela que la presentación de estas herramientas sigue tres procedimientos: enumeración, explicación e ilustración, los cuales están determinados por el carácter teórico –científico– o práctico –técnico– de la obra u obras que las registran y por la tradición discursiva en que la elaboración de éstas se inserta.
