Descripción	Ageing population is produced as a consequence of demographic transition, out of which children population is reduced and elderly population increases. Negative economic consequences of this change can be mitigated taking advantage of the first and second demographic dividends. The first one consists in a transitory increase of the job supply, while the second one bases on the increase of productivity caused by a bigger human capital per capita. This paper investigates Argentinean capability to take advantage of the opportunities presented by these dividends by comparing census data of 1960 and 2010. We conclude that female population has shown more participation in labor force and better education levels, while the male population has shown less participation in labor force and practically the same distribution of scholar assistance by education levels. Como consecuencia de la transición demográfica se produce el fenómeno conocido como envejecimiento poblacional, a partir del cual se reduce la proporción de niños y aumenta la de ancianos. Las consecuencias económicas negativas de este cambio demográfico pueden ser mitigadas con el aprovechamiento del primer y segundo bono demográfico. El primero consiste en un aumento transitorio de la oferta laboral, y el segundo en un aumento de la productividad ocasionado por el mayor nivel de capital humano per cápita. Este trabajo evalúa la capacidad de Argentina para aprovechar las oportunidades que ofrecen estos bonos demográficos mediante la comparación de datos censales de 1960 y 2015. Se concluye que la población femenina ha demostrado una mayor participación en la PEA, así como un mayor nivel educativo, al tiempo que la población masculina disminuyó su participación en la PEA y mantuvo aproximadamente constante la distribución por niveles de la asistencia a instituciones educativas.
