| Sumario: | This essay examines the impact of the Mexican Revolution in business activities by focusing on a study of the Compañía Constructora Richardson, an enterprise which was to provide hidraulic infrastructure in the Yaqui Valley during the revolution. The company faced numerous obstacles caused by the revolution: conflicts with yaquis in the Yaqui Valley itself, and institutional changes of federal and local governments, including the loss of its concession because of disagreement with the government with regard to the new fiscal system. This study shows that, while presidents expressed different views about private enterprises involved in hidraulic construction, public administrative organizations gradually consolidated coherent policies with regard to water management and water resources.
