Debido a que infringir el supuesto de exogeneidad de la educación en una función de ingresos produce estimadores MCO inconsistentes, el objetivo del artículo es presentar un conjunto de procedimientos, basados, sobre todo, en la aplicación de variables instrumentales, para estimar los rendimientos de la educación en México, considerando que la escolaridad es endógena. El resultado general es que los rendimientos se incrementan notablemente, lo que puede estar caracterizando el rendimiento de grupos específicos de población con restricciones financieras y rendimiento de la inversión educativa superior a la media. Las bases de datos utilizadas son la ENIGH, 1994 y 1996.
