實物特徵
總結:This paper seeks to establish whether the Mexican issuing banks of the late 19th and early 20th centuries constituted a stable system. The results show that there was a limit to the volume of bills that Banamex –the most important privileged bank– issued, which contributed to the system’s stability. In the same way, the system was able to survive the panic caused by the world crisis of 1907-1908 without losses for banking customers or fiscal costs. This was possible thanks to the financial aid offered by Banamex and the Banco Central Mexicano –a mutual benefit interbank society–, and to the timely government action.
