Sumario:Latin America has been a witness and participant in the complex relationship between Israel and Palestine. Although geographically distant, the Latin American region has influenced the dynamics that define the conflict, marked by the persistent absence of peace. Paraguay was one of the thirteen Latin American countries that approved United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 in 1947, which paved the way for the partition of Palestine. Subsequently, its position has been fluctuating, depending on the party in power. Faced with the events of October 7, 2023, Paraguay’s approach and unconditional support for Israel are considered disruptive with respect to its foreign policy, as well as anachronistic and imprudent in the current international context. The challenges of this stance will compel Paraguay to rewrite the axes of its foreign policy and modify its positions in the international arena.
