Description
Summary:Based on a review of the concept of energy transition in history and the sociology of alternative energies, this article seeks to explain the power relations in the context of renewable energy project development in Mexico. We posit that, contrary to what many sectors declare, energy changes not only involve technological aspects but also changes in social and political organization. Given the dominance of large-scale renewable energy projects, this article provides elements to develop political thinking about the changes currently being effected within the framework of government action and the opinion of certain dominant political groups.
