Description
Summary:This work presents some of the most relevant events in 2020 Japan, in the fields of politics, economics, international relations, and society. Besides giving an account of some of the public issues that attracted attention, such as the resignation of Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and the postponement of the Olympic Games, the objective is to present a narrative to encourage the reader’s thinking from the perspective of Human Security. Through this lens, this work looks into the Covid-19 pandemic, the state of the relations with some of the most influential countries in the region, the sphere of natural disasters and the environment, and the increasingly convenient but pervasive field of technological development. Certainly, there are challenges facing both the new Prime Minister, Yoshihide Suga, and society as a whole.
