Las aves, y en especial las necrófagas, son un hilo conductor en la obra de Francisco Ferrer Lerín, cuya dedicación ornitológica se conjuga con otras facetas (las de poeta y tahúr, principalmente) en la configuración de una persona literaria tan singular como su narrativa: la del polímata justiciero con el conservacionismo por bandera, el naturalista que recupera el muladar como comedero tradicionalmente integrado en la estructura productiva ganadera y como espacio mítico alrededor del cual actúa su principal heterónimo, el Buitre. Se estudia en este artículo, centrado en su novela Familias como la mía y otras piezas narrativas, esa rara confluencia.
