A partir de la idea de mediación del códice medieval como objeto cultural y de la dinámica del intercambio, el presente estudio plantea la hipótesis de que la configuración manuscrita está sujeta a la primacía de un sentido sobre los otros (el de la vista). En función de ese marco, el propósito consiste en analizar los objetos visuales y textuales del Libro de los tres reyes de Oriente, según el ms. esc. K-III-4, como manifestación ejemplar de la materialidad devocional del período y su relevancia tanto concreta como simbólica.
