| 總結: | José María Quiroga Plá (1902-1955) was a Spanish writer, born in Madrid, whose work to date consists of critical essays, uncollected poems and two books of sonnets published in exile which have hardly circulated at all. After briefly visiting the avant-garde movements of the 1920’s, and despite his leftwing politics, Quiroga ended up as neoclassical poet. If the term “neoclassic” is often employed in a derogatory sense, it is here used in the noblest and most positive sense, one which the present article relates to the poet’s extensive knowledge of 19th century and early 20th century French and Latin American literature.
