Summary: | Most of the chivalric books of the period of Philippe II include bucolic elements to some extent. The analysis of these elements reveals that these are specific to chivalric narrative of the second half of the xvith century, elements which derive more from Feliciano de Silva’s books than from La Diana by Montemayor or other pastoral novels. This makes impossible to consider it as a fusion of genres, though it can’t be denied that some permeability between these two golden age narrative forms. This article also determines a typology of pastoral episodes in chivalric books. |
