Garcilaso de laVega es un libro prácticamente olvidado entre los lectores y los críticos en que se combina la poesía y la historia. A pesar de la rigurosa investigación de Altolaguirre,la recreación de la vida del poeta de Toledo queda marcada por la imaginación del autor y por su personal concepción del amor y del heroísmo.
