Next I elaborate onthe specific characteristics of primitivism in Cartucho: the ontologicalfluidity, the collectivism and the logic of the concrete. Finally, I discusswhether it is legitimate to propose a playful and allegorical reading ofCartucho, two interpretations suggested by its primitivist nature. |

En Realismo mágico y primitivismo (1998), Erik Camayd-Freixas analiza las soluciones aportadas por Rulfo a las aporías del primitivismo en que habían desembocado El reino de este mundo y Hombres de maíz. Esta contribución argumenta que Campobello ya había encontrado algunas de estas soluciones en Cartucho. A tal fin, se demuestra cómo evita algunos problemas que acechan en el primitivismo, cotejandolos recursos de Cartucho con los de Pedro Páramo. Luego se profundiza en los rasgos concretos que toma el primitivismo en Cartucho: fluidez ontológica, colectivismo y lógica de lo concreto. Terminamos por preguntarnos si es legítimo proponer para Cartucho una lectura lúdica y alegórica, dos lecturas a las que suele invitar un texto primitivista.
