總結:This article deals with the term Novela de la Revolución Mexicana (“TheNovel of the Mexican Revolution”). Such term arose in the 1920’sand became common currency when an anthology going by that verytitle and edited by Antonio Castro Leal was published in 1960. Thepresent essay considers this term to be more the product of historythan a useful literary genre label; in order to support this idea, theautor of the article examines several aspects pertaining to the structureand reception of works by Azuela, Guzmán, Vasconcelos, Torriand Campobello. The author suggests that the aforementioned termbe substituted by one who may encompass a larger number of texts:Narrativa de la Revolución Mexicana (“Narrative of the Mexican Revolution”).The proposed term would include novels and short stories,as well as autobiographical texts and even corridos (pupular ballads)related to this historical event.
