Unlike classical analysis where the arguments of the verb undergo deletion we propose that the notion of transfer is bleached out to allow simpler events —both conceptually and in terms of argument structure—  whose existence is naturally accounted for in terms of dynamic metonymic processes where constructions share features influencing each other such that one paves the way for the emergence of the other.
