Analiza cómo se conjugó la teología católica con el marxismo para justificar la violencia como recurso de cambio social a finales de los sesenta y principios de los setenta del siglo XX. Se centra en actores y publicaciones establecidos en México, con un enfoque transnacional que atiende las dinámicas regionales del liberacionismo católico. Se usan como fuentes primarias libros, revistas y boletines publicados por grupos o intelectuales liberacionistas de la época, así como a gacetas, discursos y documentos oficiales del Magisterio.
