| 總結: | In August 1919, the book Intervention in Mexico was published in the United States. Its author, Samuel Guy Inman, was a major figure in Mexican Protestantism, not just due to his many years in the country, but also because, on returning to his country of origin in 1914, he participated in many groups that, in different fashions, defended an anti-interventionist position (the Committee on Cooperation in Latin America and the League of Free Nations Association). Between 1917 and 1919, there was an escalating series of events that increased tensions between the two countries; on the field of ideas, this struggle was captured both in the press and in a series of books, like the one studied herein, which shaped public opinion regarding interventionism. After analyzing this author and his book, its immediate impact is discussed. This allows us to understand the delicate yet powerful influence of the print media in the United States and the use given to it by different pressure groups in a debate that was known as “the Mexican Question.”
