The analysis of the historiographic materials revealed three main poles around which these discourses cluster, shaping in turn the epistemic decisions of historical research. Cuáles son los fundamentos epistemológicos, y a partir de éstos, cuáles son las tendencias dominantes de la historiografía mexicana de arquitectura de los últimos 30 años, constituyen la preocupación central de este artículo. Al efecto, se exponen los resultados del análisis discursivo de un corpus historiográfico cuya misión era aproximarse a la dilucidación de tales cuestionamientos en dos grandes campos de intervención en los que se desempeñan los arquitectos historiadores de nuestro país: en la práctica de la investigación histórica y en la docencia de la historia arquitectural. El análisis del material historiográfico reveló tres polos dominantes de atracción sobre los que orbitan los discursos, y a su vez configuran las decisiones epistémicas del trabajo histórico.
