El artículo pretende aportar nueva información sobre un asunto, el del tesoro transportado a bordo del yate “Vita” que ha desatado una enorme polémica política e historiográfica desde la misma llegada del barco a Veracruz en marzo de 1939. Partiendo de fuentes apenas trabajadas hasta ahora y con un escrupuloso estudio en profundidad de la contabilidad mantenida por la Junta de Auxilio a los Republicanos Españoles llegamos a establecer conclusiones sobre el valor, no sólo de lo transportado en el mítico navío sino también sobre el resto de los recursos de este organismo de ayuda.
