| Resumo: | This work reviews the almost always difficult relations between the Universidad Michoacana and the so-called free schools. These problems originated in the efforts of several social groups to impose their educational ideas and projects in Michoacán. During 1921-1938, many free schools faced the dilemma of existing outside the law or accepting the rule of the Universidad Michoacana regarding the state's graduate education issues. This paper shows some aspects of these groups' resistance against the Mexican government's attempts to dominate exclusively graduate education in the state of Michoacán. |
