Description
Résumé:As one of the local authorities that passed from the Porfiriato to the Revolution, Esteban Cantú left a record of his period in Baja California in several public works, but also in a series of dark legends regarding his character. Contradictions around him are part of an idea, still incomplete, about political bosses turned into caciques, so common in Northern Mexico. By examining Cantu's political and military trajectory, this work seeks to offer, from a human perspetive, a political portrait of the Northern frontier. Cantú's political and military career can best be understood in the context of his time, by examining not only the yearsduring which he held political control  over the region, but also his life before and after this period.
