Description
Résumé:Historically, Mexico has played a central role in defining the United States' main conceptions on Latin America. Thus, US historiography on Mexico is a very rich source  for analyzing their “historical  imaginary” of Latin  America.  One of the  main  elements of this imaginary is the region's “underdevelopment”. This work, inserted in the debates generated by the “new cultural history”, explores the  ways in which Mexico has been represented by some of the main characters of the New Economic History.
