Descripción
Sumario:This work is an approach to the complex relations between Mexican citizens and foreigners in Mexico during the period between Francisco  I. Madero's rise to presidency and the end of Lázaro Cardenas' government. It analyzes the policies for deporting “undesirable foreigners” and  attempts to quantify  a phenomenon which in Mexican political imaginary has acquired mythological dimensions due to the lack of information on the magnitude of the cases. The paper presents a first approach to the dimension, nature and composition of the  group of foreigners who had to leave the country due to the application of Article 33 of the Mexican Constitution.
