Ecuador fue uno de los países latinoamericanos en apoyar la resolución núm. 181 de 1967 de la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas, donde se delimitó la partición de Palestina en dos Estados, uno árabe y otro judío, con fronteras debidamente trazadas para las partes. Sus relaciones político-diplomáticas con Israel se consolidaron en 1950 y, de forma complementaria, el país votó a favor de la resolución A/RES/67/19 por la cual se aprobó el ingreso de Palestina como Estado observador no miembro en las Naciones Unidas en 2012, reconociéndolo además como Estado libre e independiente durante el mandato del expresidente Rafael Correa en 2010. Dado el resurgimiento del conflicto entre Israel y Palestina que dio inicio el pasado 7 de octubre de 2023, la presente propuesta reflexiona sobre las posiciones, actores e intereses de un país pequeño latinoamericano como Ecuador en torno al actual conflicto en Gaza. ...
