In the face of the war in Gaza, it was not difficult to anticipate the stance that the third Brazilian government under Lula (2023-) would take, given that his team resembles, with nuances, the one that accompanied his diplomacy during his first two terms (2003-2010). Additionally, Palestine and the...

Additionally, Palestine and the creation of a Palestinian state is a cause that his party (the Workers’ Party, PT) has traditionally supported. Before leaving office in December 2010, his government recognized Palestine as a state considering borders prior to 1967 (in accordance with United Nations General Assembly resolutions). The critical stance towards Israel that we observed since late October does not come as a surprise. In addition to being predictable, it occurs in different and radicalized environments, both domestically and internationally, with distinct effects.

In addition to being predictable, it occurs in different and radicalized environments, both domestically and internationally, with distinct effects. ...
