| Résumé: | The foreign policy formulated by Gustavo Petro once he took office is based on a “humanistic, feminist, and participatory approach,” in line with the government’s program. It highlights peace, non-intervention in internal affairs, and strengthening cooperation with other nations. The Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, became a critical issue for the implementation of Colombian foreign policy (PEC) by not condemning terrorist attacks, exceeding the use of social media as diplomatic channels (overshadowing the Foreign Ministry), and sparking controversy with the Israeli diplomatic mission in Bogotá.
