From government repression to popular insurrection, the situation has become one of simultaneous, overlapping conflicts. Together with the civil and religious war, large and medium-sized powers have got involved directly and indirectly in Syria. The course of the conflict has been affected by multiple causes, and the impact of decisions taken by different actors is analyzed. The growing complexity of the conflict brought about a situation in which neither side was able to gain victory. The paper analyzes events with the aim of revealing how the different levels of the conflict are related to each other. |

Tras llegar a un punto muerto, la crisis siria se tornó particularmente compleja. De la represión gubernamental de la insurrección popular, la situación se ha transformado en una combinación simultánea de conflictos. Además de la guerra civil y la confesional, se han involucrado en Siria, directa e indirectamente, potencias grandes y medias. Sucedió una evolución sin duda multicausal, en la que pesaron las decisiones de algunos actores que se busca dilucidar. La creciente complejidad del conflicto influyó para que se llegara a una situación en la que ninguna de las partes era capaz de vencer. En el artículo se analizan los acontecimientos con el objetivo de dejar de manifiesto cómo se han articulado los diversos niveles de conflicto.
