This enabled mining policy to escape the proenvironmental discourse of the Kirchner administrations since 2006, as well as allowing it to ignore public protest. Nor has it been impacted by the nationalist drive that succeeded in expropriating the shares held by the Spanish capital company Repsol-YPF. |

En contraste con otras políticas públicas argentinas, la política minera argentina es una política de Estado. Esto es posible gracias a una estabilidad garantizada mediante un acuerdo político interpartidario y a una protección por medio de un cuerpo normativo que desde la década de 1990 se pergeñó y que se ha visto enriquecido con el incremento del precio internacional de los metales, específicamente del oro. De esta manera, la política minera pudo escapar al discurso pro ambiental del kirchnerismo de 2006, así como ha salido airosa de las protestas de la sociedad civil. Tampoco la ha alcanzado el ímpetu nacionalista que logró la expropiación de las acciones de la empresa de capitales españoles Repsol-YPF.
