總結:This review of the book Le grand renversement de l’État social shows how Sacha Lévy-Bruhl proceeds to an exhaustive definition of the social state and what it represents in French society. The social state is presented as an institution that assumes the function of disseminating a particular conception of the individual, according to which the latter cannot be considered responsible for his socioeconomic situation. Not surprisingly, over the last few decades, this idea has been challenged by the increasing empowerment of individuals through activation and contractualization policies.
