Description
Résumé:In this article, we reconstruct the employment trajectories of Peruvian women residing in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Utilizing a qualitative methodology based on in-depth interviews and participant observation, we analyze the cross-sectional characteristics of these trajectories within a framework that considers time as a key analytical factor. Among its main findings, the study highlights the dual dimension of labor temporality, fluctuating between intermittency and long duration. On one hand, there are short-term employment paths, generally associated with self-employment; on the other hand, there is sustained tenure in certain jobs with virtually no mobility outside of them. Both dimensions are part of an entrenched pattern of precarious and informal labor.
