Descripción
Sumario:Mexico is one of the 76 countries in the world that will hold elections in 2024. The articles contained in this Dossier examine significant risks and opportunities associated with the 2024 elections in Mexico. One such risk may be that democracy is “at stake” on the ballot. While elections are an essential mechanism of democracy, they are not competed for merely for votes. There are instances where the integrity of the electoral process and the very future of democracy are also contested. This text explores that possibility and discusses the contributions of the articles to understanding the democratic significance, opportunities, and strengths of the Mexican elections of 2024.
