Summary:This paper aims to point out the urgent need to analyze the complex landscape of political events of our present from the toolbox provided by the methodology of critical sociology of Pierre Bourdieu. For this, it is necessary to carry out a genealogy focused on the role that the neoliberal revolution has had as it was thought by Bourdieu. This study of neoliberalism finds in the presence of social domination and the cultural dispossession to which the dominated are subjected, the way from which to explain a set of historical drifts that have led to the success of politicians such as Donald Trump, Boris Johnson or Jair Bolsonaro.
