Sumario: | In this article, we seek to undertake a historical-intellectual evaluation of the meaning of commemorations as “inventions of traditions,” by studying the first reception of Durkheimian sociology in Mexico. The first part explains the concept of “intellectual history,” with its social roots, in which dialectic acts between memory and forgetfulness in the context of the “invention of a tradition.” The second part applies this concept to the intellectual history of Durkheim’s first reception in Mexico. |
