Description
Résumé:This research note uses a selection of handbooks on the sociology of religion published in recent decades to explore their analytical bases and paradigms. The debate on secularization, the problems surrounding the concept of religion and the emergence of new perspectives constitute the three axes around which we will discuss the key ideas in the selected handbooks. The need to define the religious phenomenon through its lived and daily experience and the minimization of the study categories constitute two of the basic points of consensus between the various perspectives in the sociology of religion, which continues to revolve primarily around secularization.
