Description
Summary:In 2019, we analyzed the role of principals in the inclusion of return migrant students in basic education schools in two municipalities in Sonora, with 31 principals and we conducted an exploratory study in the municipalities of Guaymas and Empalme, Sonora with 31 principals and two assistant principals from 80 schools. We analyzed: a) Knowledge of migrant students enrolled, b) Registration processes, and c) Classroom integration strategies. When principals are unaware of school reception laws, they tend to exclude migrant students and, may force them to drop out of elementary and junior high school. We conclude by presenting school inclusion strategies.
