El artículo ofrece un análisis de tres estrategias de manejo emocional empleadas en la acción colectiva. A partir del análisis de entrevistas en profundidad y grupos de discusión con un colectivo que defiende un bosque en México, presentaremos el papel del manejo emocional para evitar el agotamiento. En el texto analizaremos cómo los miembros de este grupo manejan diferentes tipos de miedo, argumento que ha encontrado mayor atención en los análisis de la acción colectiva en contextos represivos, y el manejo de la impotencia y la desesperanza. El objetivo del texto es contribuir al conocimiento del papel del manejo emocional en los movimientos sociales, mostrando cómo las emociones son elementos centrales en la arena de la lucha política.
