Description
Summary:This article explores the articulations among economy, affectivity and subjectivity in the experiences of access to housing. From the perspective of economic sociology, the article analyzes forms in which young people of middle class in the City of Buenos Aires get a house to form their own home. From a qualitative interpretative research based on interviews, the article shows the practical and economic transactions displayed by these young people and the meanings attributed to them in the context of the process of independence and autonomy. The main contribution is the construction of a typology of modes of access to housing according to the capital mobilized and the economic exchanges, formed by the “gift familiar mode”, the “monetized familiar mode”, the “associative mode” and the “individual mode”.
