| description | This article aims to show the original contribution of Simmel’s sociology to network sociology in the form of an outline of it. Analysis of social networks and network theory together constitute a major field of study within contemporary social sciences. A significant part of this investigative agenda was worked through by Simmel at the beginning of the twentieth century. His reflexions largely take as their starting-point the reality of fin-de-siècle Berlin and its agitated daily life as an European metropolis. The questions Simmel raises through his social research methodology based on the form and content of processes of sociability remain thought-provoking and fruitful, giving us some precious hints on the methodological path towards understanding contemporary reality. |

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo, al construir un relato de la sociología simmeliana, mostrar su contribución original para la sociología reticular. El Análisis de Redes Sociales y la Teoría de las Redes se constituyen contemporáneamente en una rama importante de estudios en las ciencias sociales. Parte significativa de esta agenda de investigación fue trabajada por Simmel al inicio del siglo xx. Sus reflexiones se orientan principalmente a partir de la realidad del fin de siècle berlinense, en el agitado cotidiano de una metrópoli europea. Cuestiones colocadas por Simmel en su metodología de investigación social a partir de las formas y contenidos de los procesos de interacción social son estimulantes y nos ofrecen algunos indicadores preciosos de un camino metodológico para la comprensión de nuestra realidad contemporánea.
