Description
Résumé:In the labor markets of Mexican urban areas there is a strong interac- tion between jobs and individuals, and the action of entering and leaving the labor market is the most general labor movement of the active population. This study seeks to analyze the instability of economic participation through the "ins and outs" of workers within the labor market. The analytical method and analysis of this instability is based on data from the National Survey on Urban Employment (ENEU), which allows us to carry out longitudinal studies along short periods of time. The study of unstable economic participation suggests that in employment instability is put to good use and reveals some characteristics of fickle labor force. Moreover, there is a high proportion of female labor force participating intermittently in the labor market, composed of married or coupled women, either very young or over 40 years old.
