Description
Summary:The housing problem present in Mexico's major cities has motivated a series of actions by the public sector, among which can be mentioned the construction of housing in condominiums, in keeping with the idea that this constitutes a low-cost solution and, in addition, an architecturally and urbanistically suitable one.In this article, the author reports on the findings of an evaluational investigation into housing in condominiums, taking into consideration physical, psychological, and social aspects derived from their use: a comparison is made between the degree of satisfaction for those living in this kind of housing and those living in one-family dwellings. Indicators were obtained on the level of satisfaction in both types of housing, and the effect of residing in condominium-type of housing was isolated using quantitative techniques such as x², regression, and analysis of implicit prices.
