總結:This article studies the intra-urban distribution of the population and of the employment in Mexican cities. The purpose is to identify and delimit the central area of the city, and the possible sub-centers, or alternative nodes of employment concentration, by using spatial analysis tools. The results show that the centers are areas of great hierarchy in the spatial structure of Mexican cities, and some of them, especially those with more than a half million inhabitants, have developed sub-centers and a bifunctional or a polycentric configuration. However, the intra-urban organization of the population conforms more to a monocentric model than to a polycentric one.
