總結:In the last 20 years, the process of verticalization of the residential real estate market in Mexico City is more than evident. Along with this process, there is growing social concern about changes in the city and neighborhoods. The transformation of the city has generated various reactions. This article presents an analysis from a different point of view: the institutionalization of the citizen participation. For this, data from the transformation of the real estate supply in Mexico City from 1990 to 2017 and the complaints filed with the Environmental and Territorial Procurator’s Office (PAOT) are used. The results indicate that along with the transformation of the real estate supply (higher density and height), complaints are also growing. It is argued that this process can be like to so-called Not in my backyard (NIMBY).
