El artículo plantea una perspectiva conceptual de infraestructura verde (IV) que se enmarca en el contexto de asentamientos informales en el Sur Global. Para el efecto, se realiza una revisión integradora de la literatura, en la que se deconstruyen los conceptos de infraestructura verde e infraestructura de asentamientos informales, los cuales se entretejen para lograr una nueva estructura cognitiva. Cabe mencionar que la literatura sobre IV no ha producido herramientas teóricas que faciliten la integración de los asentamientos informales en la gestión ambiental urbana. Alternativamente, los conceptos de ensamble, emprendedurismo e infraestructura informal pueden ayudar a una mejor comprensión de la IV en este contexto.
